Tucker Hall at the College of William & Mary

Williamsburg, VA / Cunningham | Quill Architects

Adjacent to the famed Wren Building, Tucker Hall is the second oldest building on the campus’ historic Sunken Garden. Since its original construction in 1908, many alterations resulted in misaligned floors, a “rabbit-warren” of circulation, and an overall lack of unification. These problems were addressed with the renovation, which brought much needed daylight to the space by incorporating glass-walled classrooms inside the building’s entrance, and by creating an atrium lit by daylight streaming through a roof cupola.
