Goodwin Hall was designed to provide a new facility for Virginia Tech’s College of Engineering and serve as a “gateway” building at the north end of campus off of Prices Fork Road. The project is a LEED Gold Certified, state-of-the-art facility, focused on undergraduates with highly specialized laboratories which supports hands-on problem solving and active-learning in the engineering disciplines. The 160,000 gross square foot facility consists of classrooms, instructional laboratories, research laboratories, offices and a centrally located four story Atrium. The building is home to Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering and the Engineering Education Departments.
