The expansion of the International Arrivals Building (IAB) at Washington Dulles International Airport addresses deficiencies in the size and configuration of the existing facility, and increases passenger processing capacity to accommodate a forecasted future flight schedule. The project includes expansion of the original Saarinen Terminal to improve facilities for arriving international passengers. The program includes increasing the Federal Inspection Services capacity to process 2,400 passengers/ hour, a new People Mover Station, and additional international baggage claim devices and facilities to process arriving VIP passengers. The specifications included specially designed inspection booths for Immigration and Customs personnel, and a structural insulating glass curtain wall giving arriving passengers a panoramic view of the historic Eero Saarinen Terminal building.
