A 5.9 million sf complex to accommodate up to 20 million passengers in conjunction with existing airport facilities in a environmentally sustainable design strategy that included a site-wide energy management, a high performance thermal envelope and technology enhanced building systems.

This expansion project addressed deficiencies in the size and configuration of the original airport’s international arrivals building to increase its capacity for processing passengers. The program increased the airport’s Federal Inspection Services capacity and included a new People Mover Station, and additional baggage facilities.

This project renovated the airport’s historic Terminal A to provide new airline gates, ticket counters, and concessions designed to complement its mid-century architecture. The work restored exterior facades and original ceiling mosaics, and replicated historic light fixtures.

A $3.4 billion capital construction program to significantly expanded the original airport. The 2 million square foot project included a new permanent concourse, two parking garages, a new pedestrian walkway between the terminal and midfield concourses and an underground train system, among other improvements.
